Stable Diffusion generates beautiful images at 512×512 or 1024×1024. That's fine for screens but too small for print, wallpapers, or 4K and 8K displays. Here's how to upscale AI art without losing quality.
Why AI Art Needs Different Upscaling
AI-generated images have a specific problem: they contain fine detail that looks real at 512px but becomes obviously fake when stretched. Skin pores, fabric weave, leaf textures — these are patterns the model invented, not real textures. Upscaling can either enhance them or destroy them.

Step-by-Step: Upscaling a 1024×1024 SDXL Image up to 8K
- Save your SDXL output as PNG. PNG preserves every pixel without compression artifacts. JPEG introduces noise that the upscaler will amplify.
