Flare
Everyday photos, done in seconds
Balanced 2x to 4x for ordinary photographs. Fastest and cheapest option, and the right default when you have no particular reason to pick another. Best for social stills.
Output is built from detail already present in your file. Nothing is generated, so the result stays true to what you uploaded.
What Flare is for
Flare is the model to reach for when you have a photograph and no particular reason to pick anything else. It doubles or quadruples the linear dimensions of an image, cleans up compression artefacts and noise on the way, and finishes in seconds.
It recovers detail rather than inventing it, so what comes back is the same photograph at a larger size. That makes it safe for anything that has to stay true to the original, and it means Flare will not rescue a file that has almost no detail left to recover. For that, use Lumen.

Frequently asked questions
How far can Flare upscale?
Up to 4x the linear dimensions, so a 1000 x 750 photo comes back at 4000 x 3000. Pick 2x for images that are already large; it is faster and often enough.
Does Flare change what is in my photo?
No. Flare recovers detail that is already present in the file and adds nothing that was not there. If you need a model that generates new detail for a more dramatic result, that is Mirage, and we label it clearly.
How long does a Flare job take?
Seconds for a typical photograph. It is the fastest model in the catalogue, which is why it is the default.
Is Flare available on the free plan?
Yes. Free accounts get 5 upscales a month with a watermark. Paid plans from $19/mo remove the watermark and raise the limit.
