Visage
Restores faces only
Repairs faces and leaves the rest of the frame alone. Use it on portraits. Wrong for products, text and screenshots.
Output is built from detail already present in your file. Nothing is generated, so the result stays true to what you uploaded.
What Visage is for
Visage repairs faces. Skin, eyes, and features come back closer to the person in the photo, and the background stays as it was.
It is the wrong tool for products, screenshots, and text. Atelier only runs this stage when the still looks like a portrait, for the same reason.
When to pick Visage
Portraits
A face that is soft, noisy, or small in the frame.
Old photos
Family pictures where the face is what has to survive.
Not for products
Skip it on packaging, UI, and documents. It will try to find a face that is not there.

Frequently asked questions
Does Visage enlarge?
No. It restores the face at the source size.
Does it invent a different person?
No. Fidelity stays high so the face remains the person in the photo.
Can I use it on a product shot?
You can pick it, and you should not. Atelier will skip this stage unless the frame looks like a portrait.
