Lumen: maximum detail recovery for photos, up to 8x
Lumen is the model for files that will be looked at closely. It goes further than Flare in recovering genuine detail, at the cost of taking longer and costing more per job.

Why Lumen for photos
- Stronger detail recovery than Flare on the same source.
- Targets 8x, so a mid-resolution file can reach print size.
- Still faithful: everything it returns was recoverable from what you uploaded.
Workflow
- 1Start from the largest original you have, not a re-saved copy.
- 2Upload to UpRes and pick Lumen.
- 3Choose 4x or 8x depending on the print size.
- 4Compare against Flare at 4x. On a web-sized image you may not need the extra.
Honest caveat
Lumen cannot invent what is not in the source. Below about 500px wide there is little left to recover, and no faithful model will change that.
