Lumen · Scanned photos
Lumen for scanned and archival photos, up to 8x
When a scan is the only surviving copy, the question is how much of the original is still recoverable. Lumen recovers more of it than any other model in the catalogue, and it does so without inventing anything.
Lumen adds nothing. Output is built only from detail already in your file, so the result stays true to what you uploaded. More about Lumen
Why Lumen for scanned photos
- Strongest detail recovery available, which matters on an irreplaceable image.
- Reaches 8x for gallery print and maximum-resolution archive.
- Faithful, so the archive stays a record rather than an interpretation.
Workflow
- 1Scan at 600 DPI or higher and keep the raw scan forever.
- 2Clean dust and scratches before upscaling.
- 3Upload to UpRes and pick Lumen at 4x or 8x.
- 4Store the raw scan and the upscale side by side, labelled.
Honest caveat
Lumen is slower and dearer than Flare. On a batch of ordinary prints, Flare is the sane choice and Lumen is for the few that matter.
